Cassidy Smith, Little Rock Attorney

Born and raised in Central Arkansas, Cassidy is a criminal defense attorney committed to providing strong, client-focused representation to individuals facing criminal charges. She approaches each case with a deep sense of responsibility, shaped by personal experiences with the criminal justice system and a belief that every client deserves a meaningful and thorough defense.

Since entering practice, Cassidy has represented clients in a wide range of criminal matters, from traffic citations to serious felony and murder charges. She handles trial-level cases, as well as appeals and post-conviction matters, advocating for clients at every stage of the process. She has served as second chair in several jury trials resulting in acquittals and brings that courtroom experience into every case she handles. Cassidy is also a strong and effective negotiator, known for pressing prosecutors during plea negotiations and pursuing outcomes that align with her clients’ goals and best interests. She is recognized for her thorough preparation, sound strategic judgment, and clear, consistent communication with clients during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

Cassidy earned her Juris Doctor from the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law, where she began building the foundation for her practice. During law school, she served as a Legal Extern with the Capital, Conflicts, and Appellate Office of the Arkansas Public Defender Commission, where she worked on high-stakes cases involving capital murder charges and clients facing the death penalty. This experience exposed her to complex litigation early and reinforced her focus on criminal defense. While in law school, Cassidy also clerked for several well-respected criminal defense firms across Arkansas, gaining hands-on experience in trial preparation, legal research, and direct client advocacy.

Before pursuing law, Cassidy graduated magna cum laude from the University of Central Arkansas with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems, concentrating in Application Development. Her technical background enhances her legal practice, providing an analytical and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving and case strategy.

Cassidy takes a client-centered approach to criminal defense, combining empathy with assertive advocacy to protect her clients’ rights and ensure their voices are heard throughout the legal process.
